In March 2017, a video showing two children in Venice, Pennsylvania, pleading with potential kidney donors to come forward to help save their mother’s life was shared widely online, and it worked.

Diana Zippay shared the video to Facebook on March 26, and after seeing the video, Melissa Deighan got in touch to see if she was a suitable match. Thankfully she was, and on July 25, Zippay got her new kidney. Ten days before that, Zippay’s children again starred in a video to share the good news of a donor, thanking people for supporting and saving their mother.

As for Zippay, she told Storyful her new kidney is “doing wonderfully!” Credit: Facebook/Diana Zippay via Storyful
