COLUMBUS, OHIO — Shocking video shows a spinning ride break apart at the Ohio State Fair, killing one man and critically injuring several others. <br /> <br />According to the Columbus Dispatch, the Fire Ball is marketed as an aggressive thrill ride that swings riders 40 feet above the ground while doing 13 revolutions per minute. <br /> <br />Despite reportedly passing inspections, tragedy struck on opening day when a row of seats snapped off just as the ride began to swing upward. <br /> <br />Multiple riders were hurled into the air, including one 18-year-old, who was killed on impact as he landed about 50 feet away. <br /> <br />Three people were taken to the hospital in critical condition, while four others were injured but in stable condition. <br /> <br />All other rides at the fair have been shut down, and won’t be reopened until additional safety inspections can be completed.
