Typhoon Nesat made landfall in Taiwan on Saturday, bringing with it strong winds and heavy rainfall to eastern and southern parts of the island nation, and flooding streets and homes.<br /><br />It is the first tropical storm to hit Taiwan so far this year, with its eye gliding over the country’s east coast before moving on towards China.<br /><br />Himawari-8 captured this color-enhanced infrared imagery of Typhoon Nesat in the NW Pacific today.
