<p>Typhoon Nesat lashed Taiwan on July 29, first hitting the southeastern coast of the island before sweeping north towards the capital city of Taipei.</p><p>As of 8 pm on July 29, wind gusts of about 107 mph had pummeled the island, according to Taipei Times</a>, and flood and landslide alerts were issued for 423 locations in seven counties, according to Focus Taiwan</a>.
