<p>Taiwan was lashed by two tropical storms in a row – Typhoon Nesat and Tropical Storm Haitang – in less than 24 hours over the weekend of July 30.</p><p>Typhoon Nesat hit the island first, injuring 111 people as of Saturday, July 29, the Taipei Times</a> reported. Tropical Storm Haitang made landfall the next day, and while it was originally categorized as a typhoon before weakening into a tropical depression</a>, the storm still pummeled eastern and southern Taiwan with torrential rain.</p><p>The arrival of Nesat and Haitang marks the first occasion since 1958 that Taiwan has been hit by two tropical storms within 24 hours.</p><p>This footage shows the wind and rain in southern Taiwan’s Pingtung County.
