Venezuela's ruling party on Friday installed a new constituent assembly that plans to rewrite the constitution and give vast powers to the ruling Socialist Party allowing them to override other government branches. <br /> <br />The assembly is set to run in the same complex as the opposition run congress in Caracas, President Nicolas Maduro said the 545-member assembly could bring peace to the nation which has seen frequent violent protests.
