A cafe in Melbourne has been causing a stir by trying to bring attention to Australia’s gender pay gap.<br /><br />Handsome Her, a cafe in Brunswick has introduced an 18 percent surcharge for it’s male customers which they say is equals the gender pay gap between men and women. <br /><br />The “gender surcharge” is optional and is donated to a women’s charity, so far no male customer has refused to pay it. <br /><br />The vegan cafe has three anti-patriarchal rules, which include, a premium surcharge for males, priority seating for women and respect for both genders.<br /><br />The Australian gender pay gap has lingered between 15% and 19% for the last two decades according to the Australian Government Workplace Gender Equality Agency website.<br />
