<p>The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reportedly made new advances against Islamic State (IS) in Raqqa on August 14, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights</a> said.</p><p>The SDF reportedly captured two neighborhoods in the old city, and were in control of over half of the city, the Observatory reported.</p><p>The prominent activist network Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently said that SDF captured parts of Mansour Street</a> in north Raqqa.
