Two fishermen rescued a stranded deer in Lake Erie, Michigan, on August 27. Jason Langton recorded the moment he and friend Scotty Domine, while out fishing, came across a buck swimming about three miles from the Michigan shore.

The men were concerned the animal was not going to make it to shore so they decided to help. Domine drove the boat close to the deer while Langton lassoed a rope around its antlers.

Domine then slowly drove the boat to shore as Langton held the deer above the water by grabbing on to his antlers, according to local reports. The men released the deer once they reached land.

The pair were on their way back from Brest Bay once they had caught the legal limit of 50 perch earlier in the day.
