Women have been kicking ass for years — and now we have proof that it's been going on since at least the 8th century.<br /><br />Researchers recently re-examined a well-known grave from the Viking age in the Swedish town of Birka. The DNA tests from the grave revealed that the warrior was actually female. <br /><br />Viking warriors were typically buried with their weapons and war horses. This female warrior was also buried with a gaming set, indicating that she worked on battle tactics and strategy, and was likely an officer.
