At least two people have been killed and three others are missing after a powerful storm hit Japan over the weekend. <br /><br />Typhoon Talim made landfall on Sunday, battering the country’s southern most islands, with winds of around 160 kilometres per hour. <br /><br />Nearly 40 other people were injured by the bad weather.<br /><br />Heavy rainfall sparked widespread flooding forcing authorities to evacuate thousands of residents. <br /><br />Hundreds of domestic flights were also grounded. <br /><br />Although the storm has now been downgraded, weather warnings remain in place as Talim heads north, crossing a large area, including the capital Tokyo.<br />
