A magnitude 7.4 earthquake today (September 9) hit southern Mexico, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.<br /><br />The USGS said the quake’s centre was in the state of Puebla, southeast of Mexico City, at a depth of 51 km.<br /><br />Buildings swayed due to the force of the tremor, which occurred on the anniversary of a 1985 quake that caused huge damage in the capital.<br />
