THE OCEAN — Parasites infestations at salmon farms across the world are causing prices of the fish to surge. <br /> <br />According to an Associated Press report on ABC, parasitic sea lice have infected salmon farms in Canada, Scotland, Norway, the United States and Chile. <br /> <br />Once a parasite infects the salmon, it becomes inedible. Previously, salmon were fed a pesticide to defend against the sea lice. This was effective until 2009, when the lice began to overcome it and spread internationally.
