Two new smart tire concepts from Continental are attempting to prepare the industry for the driverless age.<br /><br />The company's "Contisense" technology can measure tread depth and temperature using special sensors. The sensors can also send alerts about slippery conditions and warnings when a tire is punctured or damaged. The "Contiadapt" is a tire with four different tread patterns that adapt to different surfaces and conditions, like snow and gravel. <br /><br />Currently, these intelligent tires are just concepts, and it remains unclear when they'll be ready to officially roll out.
