Several dozen captured Kiev soldiers were paraded through the streets of Donetsk, Sunday, where they were heckled by a large crowd. Dozens of captured or destroyed Ukrainian military hardware were also laid out in Lenin Square. This was an action by the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk to mock Kiev’s Independence Day celebrations.<br /><br />Earlier Sunday hundreds of marching troops and military hardware paraded the streets leading to Maidan Square in Kiev in celebration of the 23rd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence from the Soviet Union.
