Tusk praises UK attitude change, but says more progress needed in Brexit talks

Donald Tusk has welcomed a new, productive and realistic tone from the UK government concerning Brexit negotiations. However, the European Council President said discussions would continue only when sufficient progress has been made.<br /><br />His comments followed a meeting at Downing Street with UK Prime Minister Theresa May.<br /><br />“This shows that the philosophy of having a cake and eating it is finally coming at an end.”<br />[...]<br />“I would say there’s no sufficient progress yet, but we will work on it.”<br /><br />The EU’s Michel Barnier is negotiating divorce procedings with the UK, while Tusk is coordinating the 27 other member states. <br /><br />During her talks with Tusk, May called for creativity in the way negotiations for exiting the bloc are handled.<br />
