After playing their first U.K. concert after being initially denied entry into the country, Arabic rock band El Morabba3 is rocking through borders. <br /><br />Muhammad Abdullah, the lead singer of the band and a Palestinian refugee, says that, like other independent Arab groups, El Morabba3 is often denied visas.<br /><br />The band, which formed in Jordan eight years ago, recently won "Best Independent Song" at the first Arab Nation Music Awards, and have since gained a large following. But they’ve had difficulty expanding their fanbase beyond the Middle East. Their London debut is a way to bring Arabic rock to a new audience, in a city the band considers one of the music capitals of the world.
