A study by the University of Utah has revealed that onboard technologies are distracting drivers for up to 40 seconds at a time.<br /><br />Leading reseacher, David Strayer said: ‘‘We’re making simple interactions complex, the workload associated with these systems are very high.’‘<br /><br />The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has suggested that car companies should make some of these technologies only functional when a car is parked.<br />
