At least two people died and many more were injured including eight firefighters as hurricane force winds and rain lashed Western Poland.<br /><br />Fires services were on high alert intervening over 11,000 times to remove felled trees, repair storm-damaged roofs and clear the streets.<br /><br />The storm produced winds of between 80-100 kilometres per hour. <br /><br />Some eight thousand households are still without electricity.<br /><br />The same storm hit northern and eastern Germany on Thursday killing seven people.<br />
