Eleven active wild fires are continuing to rage on in Portugal across six different fronts with high winds hampering efforts to contain them.<br /><br />Around 1500 firefighters, 200 military personnel and countless locals are desperately battling the blazes. The Interior Secretary Jorge Gomes, declared his suspicions that the fires were set deliberately. <br /><br />The fire in Pampilhosa da Serra is said to be the most serious and has left emergency services struggling to cope.<br /><br />Two villages in the Arganil municipality have been evacuated as a precaution and at least four people including three firefighters have been injured in Anadia.<br />
