Footage of Canyon Fire 2 burning through Peters Canyon Regional Park in California on October 9. <br /><br />The video shows smoke rising from the burning area and captures the "the overwhelming sound of vegetation burning."<br /><br />"Peters Canyon Regional park is home to an endangered bird species known as the Bell's Vireo," the filmer told Newsflare.<br /><br />"Their habitat was likely destroyed so this is all very sad, but important to document," he added. <br /><br />"The flames were 40-50 feet high as they burned through the oily leaves of the trees. It was as if napalm had been dropped and the heat was quite intense even from a distance."<br /><br />"I saw animals running out of the park towards me as I filmed," he added.
