Footage has emerged from China of a man smashing an ATM in frustration as he could not pay back a £40,000 debt to the bank.<br /><br />In the CCTV video, shot in Yancheng in north Shanghai's Jiangsu Province on September 29, a man walks into a bank with a bag and takes out a claw hammer to smash an ATM.<br /><br />After that, he sits on the floor to have a cigarette until the police come.<br /><br />According to local reports, the man known only as Cai called the police himself and gave himself up.<br /><br />Since Cai was addicted to gambling and couldn't repay the huge debt, he smashed the ATM to relieve his feelings.<br /><br />Cai was arrested by police.
