<p>Sonoma resident Matthew McDermott captures video of a tree being hollowed out by wildfire in Schellville, California, October 9.</p><p>McDermott was driving in Schellville where he and his friend Trevor Bach</a> spotted the fire and pulled over to have a closer look.</p><p>Sonoma County was affected by The Tubbs Fire</a> as it spread from Napa County on Sunday night, October 8. By Wednesday morning, the fire, one of more than a dozen in northern California, had spread to 28,000 acres.</p><p>With thousands of structure threatened, dozens of neighborhoods have been evacuated.
