Hurricane Irma swept across the Cuban capital causing widespread flooding. Havana’s landmark seawall and surrounding streets were all submerged under water as Irma continued to pound the city for more than 12 hours. The 8-km (5-mile) stretch was hit with waves up to 8 meters (26 feet) high.
