Roof Blows Off School Gym as Ophelia Hits Southern Ireland

<br /> <p>The roof of a school gym was torn away</a> by high winds caused by ex-Hurricane Ophelia when it hit the southwest of Ireland on October 16.</p><p>One woman was killed in Waterford after a tree fell on the vehicle she was travelling in.</p><p>Met Éireann, the Irish weather service, warned that Ophelia was likely to be the most severe weather event to hit the country in over 50 years.</p><p>RTE News reported</a> that more than 100,000 homes were without electricity, while transport services across the country were stopped.
