<p> </p><br /><p>Monday night’s Counting On two-hour special wasn’t all about Joy-Anna Duggar</a>’s wedding. In between dress fittings and general wedding prep, Joy’s brother Joseph</a> went to ask for his then-girlfriend Kendra Caldwell</a>’s father for his permission to ask her to marry him</a>.</p><br /><p>“I just had a question I was going to ask you,” Austin nervously said, while facing Kendra’s stoned-faced father. “Kendra and I have been talking for a while</a>, courting for a while, and before we step any further into a relationship, I wanted to get your permission to ask her if it would be alright to marry her…I wanted to ask you first.”</p><br /><p>Joe’s question was then met with a cold stare from Kendra’s dad before he finally responded.</p><br /><p>“Well that’s a big step. We’ve talked for many many hours and I really feel like the Lord is leading in this direction. But I do want to remind you, you are taking one of my most precious gifts,” he said.</p><br /><p>“Yes, sir,” Joe responded before Kendra’s dad gave his blessing.</p><br /><p>“You have my wife and my blessing to go further,” he said with a smile. “We really appreciate your faithfulness and good attitude and the way you have honored my wife and I and [our] choices throughout this whole process.
