The Food and Drug Administration has approved a robot device with the purpose is helping surgeons.

Though it looks like an arcade machine, the Senhance System allows surgeons to perform less-invasive abdominal surgery with three tiny robotic arms. The controls even have haptic force feedback, which allows the surgeon to feel the tissue during surgery. The camera also provides a 3D HD view of the surgery, and can be controlled by the surgeon's eyes. It's in clinical trials in several countries, and was approved in the U.S. after testing on 150 patients.

So the next time you go under the knife, it could be a robot on the other end.
