<p>Refugees and asylum seekers on Manus Island were praising and chanting an Australian Greens senator who visited the compound the day it was due to close on October 31.</p><p>Greens Senator Nick McKim met with the men who refused to vacate the Manus Regional Processing Centre (RPC) on Tuesday; he has been a longstanding and outspoken critic of Australia’s offshore detention centres policy.</p><p>His visit was slammed by Australian Immigration Minister Peter Dutton who, in a press release</a>, accused McKim of providing “false information” to the men and used them for “cheap political stunts to build up his public profile.”</p><p>This video shows McKim and his team filming the refugees and asylum seekers inside the Manus RPC as they were chanting and thanking the senator.
