Just four hours earlier</a>, an Uzbekistan man rammed a truck into pedestrians in lower Manhattan, killing eight people and injuring over a dozen. The attacker was identified as 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov, and according to the New York Times</a> was in critical condition as of Tuesday night.</p><p>Police presence was ramped up</a> at the parade, with units equipped with heavy weapons deployed around key locations in the city.
