Incredible video has emerged from South Africa of a nine-year-old boy seemingly able to solve any tricky maths problem thrown at him.

In the video, shot on October 13, Grade 3 student Sibahle Zwane from the Lenasia township is able to answer complex multiplication questions on the spot, seemingly without any help whatsoever.

"50,000 times 18 is how much?" the filmer asks Zwane at the beginning of the exchange.

"900,000" Zwane replies, almost immediately.

The filmer explained how the boy approached him while he was relaxing after work in his car.

He writes: "This boy approached me and asked me if i knew maths and i said, 'No I don't.' In my mind i thought he was taking chances, he wanted me to give him money.

He said, 'Ask me any questions, be it addition, multiplication, division.'

"He gave me answers on the spot and I was shocked at how young this boy is and how good he was in maths," the filmer revealed: "I had to take a video to show the whole world that even in South Africa we have such young genius minds," he said.

According to local media, Zwane's mum Mbali said her son has a special gift.

“Sibahle has been good with numbers since he was four,” she reportedly told the local Daily Sun.

“Even when he’s playing with friends, he comes up with answers to hard questions.

“His teachers always tell me he’s a maths genius.”
