Footage has emerged of a crowd in southern Catalonia blocking a highway to protest the imprisonment of eight members of the regional government. <br /><br />The video, captured this morning (November 3), shows dozens of people sitting on the middle of a highway in Les Cases d'Alcanar, forcing traffic to come to a standstill.<br /><br />The protesters can be seen clapping hands as they shout, "Libertat (freedom)!"<br /><br />According to local reports, several highways and railways have been shut down by demonstrators today in the region.<br /><br />A judge in Madrid sitting on Spain’s national court jailed eight former Catalan government ministers on November 2 while they are investigated on possible charges of sedition, rebellion and misuse of public funds.<br /><br />+CLIENTS PLEASE NOTE: THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN LOOPED+
