Manus Island Refugees Appeal for Help

<p>Papua New Guinea’s Supreme Court rejected an application to restore power, water and medical services to the Manus Island detention center on November 7, ABC reported</a>.</p><p>Ahead of the decision, refugees at the center recorded a video asking for basic services to be restored, and called on the international community to recognize the situation as a humanitarian crisis.</p><p>The center closed permanently on October 31</a>, with 600 men ordered to leave the premises.</p><p>One of the refugees at the center, Behrouz Boochani</a>, had sought an injunction ordering the restoration of power, water and food supplies after they were cut off.
