Footage has emerged of thick grey smog enveloping New Delhi's Rajpath boulevard.<br /><br />The video was shot today (November 8) from inside a car.<br /><br />Air pollution in New Delhi shot 10 times over the safe limit on Tuesday morning as thick smog enveloped the city.<br /><br />Fine particulate matter PM 2.5, which are small enough to enter lungs, peaked at 742 micrograms per cubic meter. The World Health Organization's safe limit for these particles is 60.<br /><br />The Indian Medical Association has declared a public health emergency and warned people not to go out.<br /><br />Air quality dips in Delhi at this time of year due to bursting of Diwali firecrackers and crop burning in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana.
