<p>Strong winds whipped through the western parts of Washington state on Monday, November 13, felling trees and breaking power lines in several counties.</p><p>At Whidbey Island north of Seattle, where the video was recorded, wind gusts of around 60 mph</a> were recorded at a ferry terminal. Classes were canceled at some of the district’s schools and, farther east, 45,000 residents experienced a power outage</a> in Snohomish County and on Camano Island.</p><p>One woman in her mid-30s was killed in Renton, about 12 miles from Seattle, when a tree crashed on top of their car, a local paper reported</a>. The woman’s sister, travelling in the same vehicle, was injured. A two-year-old child of the deceased was unharmed, the local fire department said.</p><p>The storm hit overnight on Sunday and conditions were expected to persist</a> through Tuesday.
