<p>A militia allied with US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces captured the town of Al-Shaheel</a>, on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River south of Deir Ezzor, Syria, on November 13, after fighting with Islamic State forces.</p><p>In this footage, SDF fighters fire machine guns through a hole in a wall. The town is located close to Al-Omar oil fields</a>, which the SDF also control.</p><p>In a statement to local media, a spokesperson for the international coalition backing SDF and led by the United States said</a> its troops aimed to win control of the remaining territory the Islamic State holds on the eastern side of the Euphrates, and to gain control of Al-Bukamal.</p><p>Syrian government forces approached</a> the outskirts of Al-Bukamal on November 9.
