Drone Footage Shows Severe Athens Flooding That Left At Least 14 Dead

<p>At least 14 peoplewere killed in the Athens area on Wednesday, November 15, after flash flooding overturned cars and left highways impassable</a>, according to news reports</a>.</p><p>Of the 14 people killed, 12 were found in the small Athens suburb of Mandra, which was said to have been hardest hit by the storm, according to the Associated Press</a>. Two additional bodies were said to have been recovered by the coast guard. Officials said they believed they were swept to sea by floodwaters.</p><p>Drone videos, shared by the University of Athens to Facebook, show the extent of flooding in hard-hit Mandra and nearby Nea Peramos, both of which are located on the outskirts of Athens.</p><p>Torrential rains were forecasted to impact the area again on Thursday, November 16.
