It makes for some nice eye candy on show if you sit at the front of the ground floor bars.\r
\r
Beer prices have started creeping down a bit early on in Nana Plaza as finally the bars are getting the message that no happy hour and 160+ baht drinks is not competitive. Especially with some Soi Cowoby happy hours being 80 baht a beer until 9pm, and some gogos being 110 baht all night. \r
\r
The Angelwitch dance routine is an interesting addition. Im not sure what to make of it, especially some of the more big boned dancers strutting their stuff with masks on. \r
\r
The mototaxi ride from Nana Plaza to Patpong took 6 mins in total and cost 100 baht. It was a bit hairy as my driver was really gunning it on the empty straight road sections.\r
\r
At Patpong Bada Bing / Twilo bar was the best of the gogos I went to. Great lineup inside and 140 baht a beer. Every time I go it seems to be a good night and I would still recommend it as a must visit when in Patpong. \r
\r
Another bar in Patpong that is doing well is the strip on Patpong soi 2. They have a weekend snake show and coupled with drink promotions and some nice looking girls are always busy whenever I drop in for a beer. \r
\r
The Pavillion Place is a hotel in the middle of Patpong. The rooms are a bit shabby but if you want all the nightlife on your doorstep then you can book a room here: \r
\r
On one of the Patpong shots where I filmed into a gogo bar from the market area I was hassled by some angry vendors demanding 10k baht to take a photo :) I had to make a hasty exit.\r
\r
The freelancer girl who asked me for 100 baht for food I felt sorry for her and gave her 50 in the end.\r
\r
The Kings Corner bar is all ladyboys. I tried to get a few shots but had a lady drink girl camped out on me at the time. \r
\r
Rain in the low season. Often it can rain or pour it down at this time of year anywhere in Thailand. On this night I got stuck with no umbrella so just had to go with the flow and stay in a bar waiting for the rain to subside. \r
\r
About the live music band at Patpong. Either they were having an off night, or I need my ears checking as they sounded mediocre at best and pretty much every band in Pattaya puts them to shame on this nights evidence.\r
\r
McDonalds. I was going to hit up Sunrise Tacos at the entrance to the nearby gay street but they closed early on this night. So I ordered a fast food burger that tasted much better than it looked! (Im still alive at any rate)\r
\r
People sleeping in Thai public places. Im always amazed at the ability of some Thai people to sleep almost anywhere. What is also amazing is that due to loss of face and other cultural aspects they rarely kick out non paying customers from places like these. In the West a security guard would turf out these sleep easy freeloaders in a heartbeat. \r
\r
Taxi to Climax. My taxi was free as the driver gets a kickback of 100 baht per person delivered to the club (down from previous years of 250 baht kickback per person).\r
\r
Climax. It was too busy on this night, I could hardly move and the smell of cigarette smoke was overpowering. I had one drink and gave up.\r
\r
The President Palace hotel on Soi 11 was always my favourite place to stay when I used to holiday in Bangkok. To see the best places to stay on Soi 11 view this web post:\r
\r
\r
Trouble Brewing? Outside the Wax / Sugar hip hop nightclub there were some potential fisticuffs on the cards. It all was calmed down in the end, probably much to the benefit of the skinny guy.\r
\r
Thank you for watching this video.
