This is the moment an off-duty Sussex Police officer wrestles to the ground a motorist who had launched into a foul-mouthed rage and punched another driver.<br /><br />The video, captured on October 3 on the A27 Sompting bypass in Worthing, Sussex, shows the man assaulting another driver, who is inside a car, through the window of the vehicle. <br /><br />It was filmed by a friend and colleague of the driver being assaulted. <br /><br />Off-duty Sussex Police officer Detective Constable Seb Day appears and forcibly detains the man. <br /><br />After a long tug of war detective Constable Seb Day manages to stop the man by hurling him to the ground until an officer arrives at the scene. <br /><br />According to a court report in the local newspaper, the details of which have been confirmed by Sussex Police to Newsflare, the offender was named as Martin Perryman, 62, of Beeches Avenue, Broadwater. <br /><br />He was given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and fined.<br /><br />According to the report, he also admitted using threatening words or behaviour likely to cause distress and resisting a police constable.<br /><br />A witness in the video say a little girl was in the Land Rover. <br /><br />Writes the filmer: ''We were driving along towards Worthing probably going a bit slow for the t*** in the Land Rover behind, and next thing this angry man is leaning through the window yelling "c**t" because we were going a bit slow." <br /><br />''Fists are flying, with my guy trying to defend himself from the driver's seat. Then the angry t**ser drops his sunglasses into the car, so more scrapping 'til he gets them back. ''<br /><br />''Suddenly there's a cop on the scene, who happened to see it all go down whilst driving home from doing whatever cops do, and got stuck in, bless him.
