A cool video from Australia of a science-mad father showing how he made a cheap solar-powered electric boat for his children.<br /><br />The unusual craft is made from plastic stormwater pipes, bits of aluminium and wood, plastic chair seats, an electric outboard and solar panels and a battery.<br /><br />The solar panels provide 50 percent of the power, and the battery supplies the remaining electricity.<br /><br />Kids Mikalah, 11, and Samuel, 8, tried out the boat on Sunday at the lagoon in Terrigal, New South Wales, and appeared to have a lot of fun.
