Using a massive ship, China is making islands.<br /><br />The Tian Kun Hao, named after a legendary sea creature, can dig up to 200,000 cubic feet per hour. The landmasses that the ship creates are capable of supporting military bases.<br /><br />So far, China has built seven new islands in the South China Sea. The areas are now claimed by several other countries.<br /><br />Could this expansion be a sign that China is emboldened enough to seek influence in an already tense region?
