Our fave (Memphis inspired) Rib Rub <br /> <br />This rib rub is just magical on grilled or BBQ’d pork ribs. It has a rich earthy taste that brings out the best in your ribs. <br />Yeah we got this recipe from our cousin in Memphis. <br />Yeah it may not be the same as your ‘Memphis rib rub’… Get over it. Everyone puts their own twist on a recipe; that’s the great thing about making it yourself. <br /> <br /> <br />Ingredients: <br />1 cup (250 mL) coarse salt <br />½ cup (125 mL) firmly packed brown sugar <br />¼ cup (125 mL) sweet paprika <br />3 Tbsp (45 mL) hot mustard powder <br />2 Tbsp (30 mL) cracked black pepper <br />2 Tbsp (30 mL) granulated garlic <br />1 Tbsp (15 mL) granulated onion, or powder <br />2 tsp (10 mL) dried thyme <br />2 tsp (10 mL) dried oregano <br />2 tsp (1o mL) dried marjoram <br />2 tsp (10 mL) curry powder <br />2 tsp (10 mL) ground celery seed <br />1 tsp (5 mL) cayenne pepper <br /> <br /> <br />Method: <br />Mix all the ingredients together. <br />Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 3 months. <br />(but it won’t last that long because you’ll use it all first) <br />Makes about 2½ cups
