<p>Police intercepted a drug syndicate and made nine arrests, raiding homes in Sydney’s south-west on Thursday, November 30.</p><p>The arrests were made by the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad in Bass Hill, Belmore, Greenacre, and Punchbowl at 6:30 am. The Public Order and Riot Squad, South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad and the Dog Unit were also involved in the operation.</p><p>Police said</a> they had detected the supply of prohibited drugs, including cocaine, methylamphetamine (ice), and cannabis.</p><p>According to the Sydney Morning Herald,</a> the arrests followed the death of underworld figure Wally Ahmad, who had links to the cocaine supply operation, in April 2016.
