<p>Protesters clashed with riot police at an Athens court on November 29 in an attempt to stop the auction of foreclosed properties.</p><p>The auctions are a part of Greece’s bailout deal with the European Union.</p><p>This footage shows protesters in Athens County Court discharging fire extinguishers, throwing objects, struggling with police officers wearing helmets and holding shields. The officers hit protesters with batons.</p><p>Greek notaries boycotted auctions at the beginning of November because of safety concerns, Reuters reported</a>, but they were scheduled to resume November 29.</p><p>As part of the ongoing bailout, the European Central Bank saw the resumption of auctions as a necessary step to conclude the audit, Greek media outlets reported</a>.
