Matt Lauer has already started on the path to make things right… as he releases a statement in the wake of his firing.<br /><br />His former co-hosts read his statement live on air of the Today Show, where he apologized, asked for forgiveness and admitted there was enough truth in the claims made against him.<br /><br />He said there are no words to express his sorrow and regret for the pain he has caused, and to the people he had hurt, he is truly sorry.<br /><br />He called the last two days ‘humbling’ and he regrets that his shame is now shared by the people he cherished dearly.<br /><br />So far, three women have come forward and filed complaints with NBC over the alleged harassment they endured at the hands of Lauer.<br /><br />Matt says that repairing the damage he caused will take a lot of time and soul searching, but he claims it is now his full-time job.<br />
