Police in Fort Worth, Texas, has got creative and involved popular movie character Chewbacca in its latest recruitment video.

In this footage released by the Fort Worth Police Department on November 29, a senior officer assigned a “wookie” to Officer Pollozani, who sought confirmation if he meant “rookie.” The senior officer did in fact mean Chewbacca the “wookiee,” a fictional species of humanoids from the planet Kashyyyk in the Star Wars universe.

Chewbacca did not seem to handle his new job too well by first scaring a lady stopping on the road, then tearing an arm off a colleague.

The department jokingly wrote “we know things have been tough for Chewbacca lately. We hoped that we could find a place for him within our Department” and the wookiee’s partner said “I’m sorry about Han” – Han Solo, Chewbacca ’s partner, died in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The video ended with a message displayed in Star Wars’ classic opening crawl, welcoming all rookies and reminding them to “always show courtesy and respect to our citizens.” Credit: Fort Worth Police Department via Storyful
