Dune bashing is a popular sport in the Gulf region.<br /><br />Drivers, often between the ages of 20 and 35, try to reach the highest speeds possible, while drifting the curvy dune. <br /><br />Handling vehicles well gain drivers a lot of respect from spectators. Professional rules have not yet been implemented, despite numerous accidents, some fatal. <br /><br />Up until recently, fans from the region traveled to participate in dune bashing. But because of a diplomatic crisis across the Gulf, which led to a Saudi blockade of Qatar, the county's citizens no longer have access to the sport.
