An amateur goalkeeper that became the butt of internet jokes last year after scoring an embarrassing own goal has scored an incredible hat-trick playing as a centre-forward.

Darrel Hales scored the hat-trick in a charity game, including two wonder goals.

Hales - nicknamed the Barrel for his physique by the filmer - earned notoriety in August 2016 when he scored an own goal while between the sticks playing for Sunday League side Maddog FC.

But Hales found redemption earlier this year when playing as centre-forward, scoring a hat-trick that included a long-distance screamer and a close-range volley.

Writes the filmer: "It was a charity match raising money for St Giles Hospice to help bereaved children. It was Hales vs Team Randle. It was in memory of their fathers and Sue Davey, a local Tamworth lady and victim of the terror attack in Tunisia.

"Darrel played out just for a bit of fun. The final score was 8-2, I think.

"(Leicester City winger) Marc Albrighton played a few minutes."

DOWNLOAD VIDEO OF HALES' OWN-GOAL BLUNDER HERE:
https://www.newsflare.com/video/81283/sport/amateur-goalkeeper-scores-a-classic-own-goal
