International banking conglomerate HSBC has wound down its banking business in Sarawak.<br /><br />HSBC said the decision is due to commercial reasons and declined to confirm whether it has withdrawn banking support for firms linked to the former Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his family.
