As promised, this book did make me upset. It did its job. i know nothing lasts forever, but these capitalists did a great job at fulfilling their wishes of NYC's continual displacement of 'undesirables'. There's still some remnants of 'New Yorkness' left, but sometimes it feels as if i stepped into a gigantic shopping mall- all bland with no edge. i'm glad i got to live in NYC when it was still NYC. i'll alays have that- HA!
