Where the Fires Are Spreading in Southern California<br />Colors show how fires spread over time:<br />Several wildfires continued to blaze in the Los Angeles<br />and San Diego areas on Friday, burning more than 100,000 acres and forcing nearly 200,000 people to evacuate.<br />Perimeter of Thomas Fire<br />A fire broke out in the Bel-Air section of Los Angeles on Wednesday morning, burning almost 500 acres and shutting down part of the 405 Freeway.<br />Satellite image taken at<br />Edge of satellite image<br />The Skirball Fire, which started after this image was taken, shut down the 405 Freeway near Bel-Air<br />Perimeter of Creek Fire<br />Near Santa Clarita, the Rye Fire has burned 7,000 acres.<br />The Creek Fire in northern Los Angeles, near the neighborhoods of Sylmar, San Fernando and Lake View Terrace, continued to burn on Thursday.<br />The largest fire had nearly encircled the city of Ojai<br />and had burned more than 90,000 acres in the area north of Ventura, a city of 110,000 people, officials said.
